Based in San Francisco, California, Haroun Serang is a multi-instrumentalist producer, mixer, and engineer who has spent over 25 years collaborating with some of the most recognized names across a wide range of genres.

Recent Work

Haroun’s work appears on acclaimed bassoonist and composer Paul Hanson’s album Calliope (released in fall 2024), where he served as producer, mixer, engineer, and guitarist.   In addition, Haroun has worked on projects of Victor Little, Zach Totta (Sunk Coast), Julian Forest, Jim O’Halloran, Charles Spikes and more.

Haroun works out of his personal suite in San Francisco as well as studios in SF Bay area and Los Angeles

Early Years

Raised in a musical family, Haroun was deeply influenced by his concert violinist mother and the diverse tastes of his older siblings. After years of performing and touring as a guitarist, he discovered a passion for the studio, where he worked with renowned producers such as Randy Emata, Phil Nicolo, Robert Rich, and Bill Laswell.

Haroun gradually migrated from live and touring gigs to production work, building his own production suite.  

Through partnerships, Haroun always leverages his performance experience in the studio to augment and focus the artists’ works.
